  Mike

  Owner and Master Trainer

  With 20 years of dog training experience and countless accolades from trainers and dog training academies around the world, Mike has established himself as one of the most multi-faceted and accomplished trainers in the Midwestern United States. His experiences range from working with common household pets in obedience/behavioral training, to training high level working K9’s used by police departments and the United States Military. Mike is a graduate of the Tom Rose School, STSK9 University, Michael Ellis Professional School, Logan Haus School, and the world-renowned NePoPo School of Professional dog training in Brussels, Belgium. Mike served both his community and country with valor by serving as a Police Officer and Army Captain Combat Veteran for over 12 years. He has an abundance of dog training and ‘working dog’ experience. As his first venture into the pet training space, Mike opened a company called KC Dawgz in 2017. After selling KC Dawgz in 2020, Mike created a new, specially designed company, Precision Dog Training, to provide bespoke training services and to meet the needs of dog lovers in the Kansas City area. Mike is also an American Kennel Club (AKC) Evaluator. His passion is to empower families with the ability and knowledge required to enhance the family/pet dynamic and strengthen the relationship between dog and owner. Mike has also earned a Master's of Business Administration with honors from the University of Mary.

  Keaton

  Assistant Director of Training

  Keaton is originally from Overland Park, Kansas. He grew up with a passion for all animals. As an adolescent, Keaton started caring for and training his family’s (and friends’) dogs. Over time, his passion became a career. Keaton has decided to put his knowledge and love for dogs to use while em-’barking’ on his journey to become one of the top dog trainers in Kansas. Keaton began his Dog Training career over 5 years ago by working under Michael Sligh (Master Trainer/Former Owner of KC Dawgz Training Academy) and completing the apprenticeship program. Once graduated, Keaton continued training and became a Level III dog trainer, specializing in both Obedience Training and Behavior Modification. He also became the Lead Group Instructor for Puppy Obedience, Trick, and Agility classes. Since then, Keaton has also studied and received certifications from Nino Drowaert (STSK9) upon completion of the STSK9 Master View Training Seminar. Keaton continues to seek out further education and certifications to progress his knowledge and skill set in his dog training career. Keaton is also the father of his three-year-old American Black Lab named Brinley, who Keaton trained in Bed Bug detection and Advanced Obedience. Keaton’s approachable personality and intense work ethic has propelled Keaton to become one of the top professional dog trainers in the greater Kansas City area. In addition, Keaton studied at the University of Kansas focusing on Strategic Communications.

  Rob

  Co-Owner and CEO

  A passionate dog lover and business owner, Rob has spent the last 25 years impacting the lives of American students around the world as an American School HS Principal in 4 different countries. Having repatriated from Abu Dhabi 6 years ago, Rob has now turned his focus to providing excellent pet services and training to families in the Kansas City area. Rob’s degree in Biology pairs nicely with his experience in training horses and canines. With Master's Degrees in Education and Leadership, Rob's area of focus includes quality control as well as crystallizing and formalizing the curriculum for Precision Dog Training Academy’s well-respected training programs. Additionally, he enjoys providing families in the local community with outstanding customer service and pet care that are beyond expectation.
